About the museum
The “Hoamatstubn” belongs to the Gebirgstrachtenverein Georgenstoana Baierbrunn, a mountain costume club founded in 1919 and revived in 1954. It is housed in the Jägerhaus on Burgstraße, a lavishly restored farmhouse whose core dates back to the 16th century.
The small permanent exhibition shows farm furnishings from around 1840, including a bridal chest, a canopy bed, and other furniture, as well as objects of traditional folk art. There are also old Bavarian costumes, historic toys, jewelry, linens, and crockery (including pieces from a former railway station restaurant), plus information about notable people from Baierbrunn. The display is regularly expanded with new objects.
