About the museum
The craft museum belongs to the Drexler Hof in Arrach, run by the Drexler family, who operate a distillery. The family wants to keep the era of traditional craftsmanship alive and has gathered more than 2,000 tools, machines and implements, presented in furnished workshop rooms.
The museum shows common crafts of the Bavarian Forest, including shoemaker, blacksmith, joiner, turner, carpenter, broom maker, cooper, wheelwright and saddler. A rustically furnished farmhouse living room from the 19th century shows how wooden clogs, brooms and rakes were made. On the grounds of the Drexler Hof there is also a distillery museum, a mineral museum and a wood art museum.
