About the museum
The association Bulldog – Freunde Erzgebirge e.V. was founded in January 1998 with 15 members, out of a passion for old tractors and historic agricultural machinery; today it has around 45 members. Initially, alongside the Topfmarktscheune in Burkhardtsdorf, it ran a small museum that could hold only a fraction of the agricultural machines and small farm implements.
On April 16, 2003, the symbolic handover of a "museum euro" to the mayor marked the start of building a new house. From a former agricultural cooperative (LPG) building of about 600 square meters next to the Zwönitztal hall, extensive conversions and countless hours of work by the members created a museum that opened on August 27, 2006, at the association's 9th Autumn Meeting. Later the association added two new platforms to expand the exhibition area.
Over two levels, the collection displays tractors, crawler tractors, threshing machines, small machines, implements for soil cultivation and harvesting, a hay hoist, as well as farm household items and an old workshop. Among the rarities is a 1911 Lanz steam traction engine with 18 hp, which has been part of the collection since December 2006.
