About the museum
The German Pigeon Museum in Nuremberg grew out of a passion for racing pigeons, breeding pigeons and fancy pigeons. It is conceived as a collection that brings together objects from pigeon keeping and from the cultural history of the pigeon, some of them reaching back to the 16th century.
Since 2007 the museum has been run by a registered association that wants to keep it in place permanently. Members can be individuals, breeding groups, clubs and associations, and companies. The collection is still being completed; visitors describe it as versatile and unique in the world. The website offers a virtual 360-degree tour through several floors.
