About the museum
The Heimat- und Kulturverein Dittwar runs a museum building in the center of Dittwar, today a district of Tauberbischofsheim. It is a former farmstead where living quarters, barn, cellar and stable are under one roof. A special feature is the stone staircase that leads from the kitchen straight down to the cellar.
The living quarters, stable and barn are furnished with household items and equipment from the early 20th century. In one room, a shoemaker's workshop recalls that a shoemaker actually worked here a few decades ago. The cellar has been converted and is used for celebrations and meetings.
