About the museum
The Dorfmuseum Quellendorf is run by the Verein Dorfmuseum e. V. Quellendorf, which documents rural life and the traditions of the village. Six rooms hold evidence of family life, crafts, farming, clubs and school, along with furniture, household objects, toys, tools and agricultural equipment.
Special features include a living room from GDR times, a small classroom and an “Ahnengalerie” (ancestor gallery) of photos of school leavers, the oldest of which shows the class of 1934. The association also focuses on the castle, the church, the fire brigade, the “Bähnle” (small local railway) and well-known personalities of the village. Once a year an open day with changing themes invites visitors.
