About the museum
The former municipality of Trauchgau acquired the farmstead known as “beim Hölzler” in the village center in the first half of the 20th century. In the 1980s the idea arose of setting up a local heritage museum there. In 1998 an exhibition on the history of the local fire brigade was first shown on the upper floor, and in 2001 the building opened as a “Dorfmuseum” (village museum).
Today the museum presents collections on the natural and cultural landscape of the municipality of Halblech, alpine farming, flax processing, rural living culture, crafts, middle-class life and club life, as well as fire protection and winter sports.
