About the museum
The small farm museum in Ebersbach, a part of Weichs on the edge of the Glonn valley, was built up between 1983 and 1996 by a Munich gynaecologist. The aim was to save rural historic buildings threatened with demolition and to continue using them with care. The ensemble is still lived in today and is looked after by the Kammermeier family.
The main building is the listed “Doimerhaus”, the combined dwelling and stable house of a full-time farmer from Günzenhausen in the Hallertau. It was built in 1793 as a log building, dismantled in 1979 and rebuilt in Ebersbach in 1983/84. The second house is the smallholding of a village cobbler from nearby Pasenbach; originally intended for the Glentleiten Open-Air Museum, it ended up on the “Puit” in Ebersbach. Only its bedroom survives in its original state, and it now houses a cobbler’s workshop.
The three-sided farmstead also includes a reconstructed bakehouse with a collection of pre-industrial farm tools, an apiary, a dovecote, a coach house, a wind-powered well and a farm garden with old herbs and flowers. Highland cattle, pigs and small animals bring the grounds to life.
