About the museum
When the fire station on Kasernplatz was occupied in 1981, a small museum was set up in the gallery above the vehicle bay. The number of exhibits related to Dillingen's town history grew over the years, and items from other fire brigades in the district also found a place there.
In 2005 the then club chairman asked the town for an additional hall section in the neighboring former Bosch hall, to house the historic vehicles of the Dillingen brigade. From 2006 to 2011, volunteers converted the area in over 600 working hours. The fire brigade association invested more than €11,000, and the town contributed €3,000. The museum hall was inaugurated on July 24, 2011.
Since then it has housed, among others, the old LF 15 and TLF 16 fire engines, two historic vehicles of the Dillingen brigade. The museum is run by the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Dillingen a. d. Donau.
