About the museum

The fire brigade museum belongs to the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Ohe, a local brigade of the town of Reinbek founded in 1885. After the brigade moved into the old school in 1968, part of the new building was opened as a museum in October 1970; the museum portal gives 1971 as the start of the historical exhibition. The brigade describes the museum as unique in the district.

When the fire station was converted in 1984/85, the growing museum had to move and has since been located in the main building of the old school. It vividly shows the technical progress of firefighting over the past century and links it to the local history of Ohe.

Under the title "Feurio!!!!", the exhibition covers fire fighting and fire prevention past and present for all age groups and gives tips on fire safety in the home. Tours are tailored to families, schools, kindergartens and clubs.
