About the museum
The Fischbahnhof 360° in the Schaufenster Fischereihafen is operated by the Fischereihafen-Betriebsgesellschaft and funded by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund. Modern 360° projection technology creates room-filling images in the experience space; two multivision shows alternate on a 30-minute cycle.
The first multivision links fishing history since the late 19th century with the development of the Bremerhaven fishing harbor, contrasting earlier and current catching and processing techniques. The second is devoted to the underwater world: footage by renowned divers shows jellyfish, rays, mackerel and whale sharks.
Media stations explore topics such as fisheries research, fisheries policy, sustainable fishing, fish processing and the fish themselves; a cabinet of wax fish models displays some sea creatures.
