Fluvius – Museum Fluss und Teich

Interactive museum in Wassertrüdingen on the Wörnitz River and the Central Franconian pond landscape, with a large aquarium of native fish.

Opening hoursAdmission €3 Wheelchair accessible

About the museum

The Fluvius museum is an information and experience center for river and pond habitats. It moved into a newly built exhibition building in the old town of Wassertrüdingen and is run by the town. The exhibition is barrier-free and holds the certification "Reisen für Alle" (Travel for All).

On the first floor, the focus is on the river: using the Wörnitz as an example, the museum shows the river's significance for the town and offers a virtual journey through the Wörnitz floodplains from a fish's perspective. The second floor is devoted to the pond. Central Franconia is one of Germany's largest pond regions; three pond sections tell of fish farming, flora and fauna, and the history of fishing. The carp is at the center, and in the museum kitchen visitors can watch a cook preparing it.

A large aquarium with native fish and numerous hands-on stations for seeing, touching and listening complete the tour. On the top floor, the museum hosts changing exhibitions.
