Extensive show by the American dancer, choreographer and photographer, featuring Polaroids, photographs, collages, videos and installations that move between dance and queer culture.
About the museum
The Fotografie Forum Frankfurt (FFF) was founded in 1984 as an independent center for photography and is now one of the leading independent institutions of its kind in Europe. It is still run by a non-profit supporting association. The first exhibition was a retrospective of the Frankfurt photographer Barbara Klemm; since 1992 the artistic director Celina Lunsford has shaped the program.
There is no permanent exhibition. Since its founding the FFF has shown more than 300 exhibitions, featuring contemporary as well as historically significant positions – including many icons of photographic history, but also names still waiting to be discovered. Many of these artists were seen here for the first time in Germany.
The FFF Akademie invites visitors to exchange views on photography with workshops, talks and special events. The institution is also one of the founders of the RAY Photography Triennial in the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main region.
In its early years the Forum was housed in the Leinwandhaus. Since 2014 it has been located on Braubachstraße, the art and culture mile of Frankfurt’s Old Town. The rooms for exhibitions, events and education, as well as the administration, are on two floors of a listed office building from 1927, whose color scheme was restored according to the historical findings.
