About the museum
The local history museum in the village center of Neupotz keeps alive the memory of village and farm life in the South Palatinate. Everyday objects and tools from village life are on display; one focus is old crafts, with stations for the shoemaker, basket maker, baker, fisherman, saddler, wheelwright, and bather (Bader).
Neupotz was once a village of basket makers, so many hand-woven baskets are on show. Another theme is tobacco processing, which still plays a role in the Germersheim district today. Special features of the collection include church vestments and literature from the estate of songwriter Josef Loy.
