About the museum
The local history museum on Scheuergasse preserves the bourgeois culture of Zwingenberg, the oldest town on the Bergstraße. It is located in an old barn and is run by the Geschichtsverein Zwingenberg 1971 e. V.
On display are recreated craft rooms such as a cooperage, a smithy and a shoemaker's workshop, as well as living and working areas such as a bakery, a butcher's kitchen, a farmhouse kitchen, a burgher's parlour and a classroom. In addition there are a weapons collection, historic postcards, dollhouses and figurines.
The museum is open only during the season; the Geschichtsverein arranges additional viewing dates on request.
