About the museum
The Heimatstube is an institution of the Kulturkreis Podersam-Jechnitz (cultural circle). In 1986 the sponsoring town of Kronach made three rooms available to the expelled residents of the West Bohemian district of Podersam in a historic 17th-century building, the so-called Fiedlerhaus in the Obere Stadt, and handed them over for their purpose.
The first room gives an overview of the lost homeland with an enlarged district map from 1902 and documents the history and expulsion in display cases. For each of the 92 localities of the former district there are folders with rescued documents and photographs. The second room features a model of the Romanesque St. James's Church in Rudig, a full-size plow and a model of a hop yard, along with linens, clothing, club banners and old currencies. The third room has swivel panels with photographs and town plans of the communities, as well as a corner for notable figures.
