About the museum
The Hopfenhaus is a listed building in the centre of Aidlingen. The municipality acquired and renovated it; since 1987 it has housed local collections.
On the ground floor and the first floor there is a collection of old agricultural tools with well over 300 individual items. A catalogue documents each piece along with its original owner.
On the second floor is the East German Heritage Room of the Federation of Expellees. It shows mainly Carpathian German costumes from Upper Zips, alongside costumes and objects from the Sudetenland, the Banat region of Batschka and Transylvania, picture panels of the home towns, and a local history library.
