About the museum
The Illuseum Berlin at Alexanderplatz sees itself as a museum that brings illusions and ocean conservation together. It is run by Verwunderei GmbH. The exhibition combines art from the Berlin scene with perceptual illusions, technology and knowledge, and addresses topics such as plastic pollution, overfishing and climate change.
The installations are meant to be tried out: they play with perspective and reality, invite visitors to take unusual photos and aim to change the way we look at nature, consumption and the future. Explanations of the exhibits are available in German and English via a mobile website.
Besides the tour, the museum offers guided tours, workshops for school classes and groups, holiday programmes, children's birthday parties and the Illulab event space, which can be hired for events. Outside the museum, environmental education programmes in schools and parks run under the name NaturCampus.
