About the museum
Johann Baptist Graser lived in Bayreuth from 1810 until his death in 1841 and is regarded as an important reformer of the Upper Franconian school system. The school named after him on Schulstraße has existed since 1875; its historic school building dates from the same year. For the school's 125th anniversary in 2000, the school set up a museum on the first floor that commemorated the educator's life and work and also showed what school was like in earlier times.
Because of the general renovation of the school building, the school museum is currently in storage. After the conversion it is to be integrated in changed form into the newly designed school building.
