About the museum
The old wine press of 1784 is the only surviving one of five presses that once stood in the Unterjesingen area. Through the Pflege Roseck it belonged to the Bebenhausen monastery. Together with the neighboring Zeeb House and the wheelwright's workshop, it now forms the museum.
After extensive renovations, the Förderkreis Unterjesinger Kelter support group has been collecting equipment for wine growing, hop cultivation and agriculture, as well as workshops of local craftspeople, since 1983. The house opened on June 28, 1986 as the Isinger Dorfmuseum Alte Kelter; in 2004 it received the "Exemplary Local History Museum" award.
The Zeeb House, built from 1609 onward, shows rural domestic life around 1900; in the vaulted cellar from the 15th century, wine and must barrels are stored. In the Wagner-Häusle the workshop is still in working order.
