About the museum
The museum is located in the large barn of the former manor farm Basfelder Hof near Völkershain in the municipality of Knüllwald. An association founded in 1993 bought the barn in 1999, had it renovated and set up an exhibition there.
It shows machines and tools from agriculture, crafts and households that are now hardly used, such as hay tedders, potato harvesters, winnowing machines, looms and spinning wheels. The aim is to preserve the life and work of earlier generations as well as the steps of mechanization over the last centuries. Volunteers familiar with the old equipment demonstrate how it is used.
