About the museum
Lothringer 13 Halle is a municipal art space of the city of Munich. Since 1980 it has been housed in a former industrial building on Lothringer Straße in the Haidhausen district, showing contemporary art projects across about 800 square meters of exhibition and studio space.
Leadership terms are limited to five years at most, so that the program stays lively. Since April 2025 the artist and curator Kalas Liebfried has led the house. The current concept, "Anti Doom Loop Kult", works with thematic focuses that change every six months and places performance, dance, sound, scenography and education at its center.
The house includes the large hall, further halls, a basement and an upper floor, an archive room, the Forecast production space for residencies, and a pop-up bookshop. In the courtyard is Florida, a second municipal art space.
