About the museum
The local history museum on Mühlstraße is run by the Großröhrsdorf local heritage association (Heimatverein). It has a permanent exhibition on the village’s history, which includes a collection on the former inns and taverns, presented on fourteen panels.
The building was comprehensively restored with funding of €200,000 from the East German Savings Banks Association (Ostdeutscher Sparkassenverband) and its partners. Since then the association has been able to devote itself more to the museum’s content.
