October 8, 2026 – January 29, 2027
On show are works from the graphic collection ‘Mensch und Tod’ of the Institute for the History, Theory and Ethics of Medicine at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.
MuSeele is located in the attic of the bathhouse, the oldest building on the grounds of the Christophsbad clinic in Göppingen. The sponsoring association MuSeele e.V. was founded on December 16, 2004, and today has around 150 members, including people affected by mental illness, clinic staff and interested individuals.
The museum aims to convey the history and themes of psychiatry critically, yet also with artistic inspiration. It relies on factual information, a provocative form, interactive offerings and multimedia presentation to reduce prejudice and inhibitions, without glossing over existing problems.
The focus is on people: sufferers and helpers, well-known personalities and anonymous fates from the history of the Christophsbad.
