About the museum
Neutraubling emerged on the site of the Obertraubling airbase (Fliegerhorst), which was largely destroyed in the Second World War. From 1946 onwards, refugees and expellees gradually settled there; the municipality was founded in 1951, and in 1986 it received town rights.
The city museum tells this story through its exhibits: from the Obertraubling airfield, through flight and expulsion and the influx of refugees, with the pioneering spirit of the first residents, to the building up of industry and the urban development of the town.
The museum is closed until further notice due to redesign work. The town plans to reopen it with a completely new concept, in a different location and in new premises.
