About the museum
The artist and curator Jürgen Blum (1933–2015) founded the museum in 1990 in Hünfeld. It is housed in the town's former gasworks, an Art Nouveau building from 1907 that has been supplemented with modern exhibition halls.
The exhibition space covers more than 1,000 square meters. In addition, there are the gasometers and a sculpture garden on a former railway embankment behind the main building.
The permanent exhibition shows works from the Jürgen Blum collection in the field of Concrete Art, from Constructivism to Concrete Poetry. Several contemporary exhibitions are also held every year. Blum also created “Das Offene Buch” (The Open Book), visual poems on more than 120 house walls in the town.
