About the museum
The Museumshof lies in the village center of Zirkow on Rügen, not far from the B 196 and only a few steps from the village green and the Zirkow church. Its centerpiece is a typical Kübbungs-Dielenhaus, a hall-house built in 1727, which belongs to the preindustrial farmhouses of the island. Two outbuildings also belong to it.
From 1958 the house served the local agricultural production cooperative as a cattle barn. Only after 1990 was the farmstead converted into a museum.
On display are agricultural tools and machines, including a Lanz Bulldog tractor, as well as original household items and furnishings that tell of the work and everyday life of earlier centuries. Historical pictures and documents record the history of Zirkow and its surroundings.
