About the museum
The museum is housed in a former workshop on the grounds of a roofing company in Dörfles-Esbach in the Coburger Land. It displays exhibits on roofing with slate and roof tiles, as well as old tools and objects from the roofer's trade.
The museum is linked to a classroom from the 1940s, furnished true to the original. There, children in particular can try out slate products such as slate pencils and slate boards, with which their parents and grandparents learned to write.
