About the museum
The Stadtgut stands in the heart of Leisnig. The historic building was restored after decades of work; the measures were completed in 2013. The valuable room decoration was restored or reconstructed in the process.
On the second floor is the exhibition on the Leisnig Kastenordnung, Leisnig church music and town history. The Kastenordnung regulated the town's theological, economic and social questions; Martin Luther wrote a foreword to it. Information panels also cover Luther and the Reformation in Saxony, civic life and piety around 1500, Kloster Buch (Buch Monastery), the Leisnig cantors and the restoration of the second floor.
