November 26, 2026 – January 31, 2027
Christmas exhibition with pyramids and paradise gardens, open Wednesday to Sunday.
The Museum der Stadt Lichtenstein was housed in the listed Ratskeller building on the Altmarkt in the town center. It reopened there in 1999 with a permanent exhibition on town history, along with special exhibitions on regional and cultural history.
In 2023 the museum moved out of the Ratskeller building. Since then, the collection has been shown as an interim solution in a display depot in the west wing of the Kultur.Palais.Lichtenstein (formerly the Daetz Center). After renovation, the museum is to move into the historic Schlosspalais of the Schönburg-Waldenburg princes, and a new permanent exhibition on town history is being planned.
