About the museum
The Folklore Museum of Antimachia is housed in a traditional stone house on the village square, near the traditional windmill. The house was lived in until 1953 and recreates the household of the early 20th century.
In the main room, which also served as a bedroom, there is a raised wooden platform, while the stone oven was used for baking bread. In the garden there are a henhouse and a pigsty. Traditional furniture, household utensils, textiles, musical instruments, old photographs, icons and family heirlooms are on display. The loom is regarded as the most precious tool of the housewife, and a local weaver demonstrates the art of weaving.
