About the museum
The house reached its present form in the early 1880s, when the well-off Calvinist farmer Deák István had it remodelled. Over time the building was further altered to suit the needs of each period. On the comb-type (fésűs) plot, a transverse wing stands behind the house facing the street; the walls are brick and adobe, and the half-hipped roof is covered with Apatin tiles. The renovation was supervised by Csapai János.
The exhibited rooms are: the late 19th-century parlour in folk-art style, the living room furnished in bourgeois style, the kitchen and the pantry with household utensils, the back kitchen with weaving equipment, and the stable and granary with tools and machines for animal husbandry, viticulture, winemaking and agriculture. On request, a Sárköz round kalács (sweet bread), wine and costume presentation can be arranged.
