About the museum

The Casa Museo Luciano Pavarotti is the home that the tenor had built at the beginning of the 2000s in the Modena countryside, within a large estate. He lived there in his final years with his wife Nicoletta and his daughter Alice, until his death on 6 September 2007. Pavarotti wanted a house where he could welcome friends, teach young singers and enjoy family life.

The house was opened to the public in 2015 to link the memory of the Maestro to his native land and to show the man behind the great artist. Furnishings and objects have been left as he kept them: the house can be visited in full, with 12 rooms spread over 4 floors.

The route includes the piano room, the room “La gioia di vivere” with its paintings and colourful clothes, the “finestra sul mondo” (window on the world) lit by a large skylight, where some of the more than 500 awards of his career are displayed, including six Grammys and two Emmys, the bedroom, the opera rooms, the room of unreleased recordings and the room dedicated to Decca. Stage costumes, mementos, photographs, videos and letters tell the story of his career, but it is above all everyday objects that reveal the person.
