About the museum

The museum is set up in the rooms of an 18th-century villa on the hills of Costigliole Saluzzo, in the vineyard area of the Chiotti farm, which has been producing wine since 1868. The aim of the collection is to preserve and pass on the objects of a rural world that is disappearing.

The collections comprise more than 6,000 pieces across seven rooms, reconstructed as faithfully as possible to their original settings. The most distinctive section is the cellar for producing Quagliano, a rare grape variety from the Saluzzo area, together with the tools used to cultivate the vine.

The visit is guided and takes visitors through the rooms and the everyday habits of rural life in the past. The farm also offers educational activities for schools on the theme “from grape to wine” and tastings of its wines.
