About the museum
The Randazzo civic museum of natural sciences has six rooms and is based on two main collections: the Lino natural history collection and the Priolo ornithological collection.
The Lino collection includes fossils, minerals, rocks and shells found in Sicily. The Priolo ornithological collection comprises around 2,250 specimens of Italian and exotic birds, including the grifone dell’Etna (Etna griffon vulture) and the avvoltoio dagli anelli, both now extinct.
The route begins with geology, continues with marine fauna, exotic fauna and exotic birds, then presents Sicilian fauna, with a griffon vulture diorama, and finally reaches the room dedicated to the Priolo collection.
