Museo Luigi e Luigina Comola
Small museum in Camasco, a hamlet of Varallo, which gathers lamps, stoves and memorabilia of its founder, Giovanni Comola, in a single room.
Have only individual sections read aloud
About the museum
The collection is housed in the former nursery school of Camasco, founded in 1914 by Ignazio Giovanni Comola (1839-1918) in memory of his children Luigina and Luigi, who both died as children. As a young man Comola emigrated as a tinsmith and, through his own enterprise, became the owner of a “fumisteria” (stove and lamp workshop) in Rome, where he built lamps, stoves and braziers sold throughout Italy.
Wishing to leave the small mountain village a memory of his work, Comola personally set up the collection. A single room presents it in six sections: oil portraits, views of Rome, stoves, lighting items, miscellaneous objects and family memorabilia.
