About the museum
The museum is housed in a 19th-century palazzo in Calice Ligure and grew out of the Remo Pastori collection, named after the Turin gallery owner who spent long periods in the village during its period of artistic fervour. Artist friends of Pastori donated works to the municipality in the early 1980s in his memory. The core comprises works by about fifty artists, including Aldo Mondino, Tino Stefanoni, Aurelio Caminati, Ugo Nespolo, Gianni Bertini, Agenore Fabbri and Ezio Gribaudo.
The collections also include the “Cartoline d’Autore” (Artists’ Postcards), which grew out of the competition “Un progetto per Calice Ligure” (A Project for Calice Ligure) in 1980 and now comprise about one hundred small-format works, growing through voluntary donations, and the “Collezione Nuova” (New Collection), with works donated by the artists who exhibit at the Casa del Console.
The museum has received European co-financing (ERDF, FESR 2007–2013), funding from Liguria Region, the municipality and the Fondazione De Mari, and it holds exhibitions and events throughout the year.
