Museum of modern and contemporary art in Rovereto, in Mario Botta's building, with large collections of 20th-century Italian art and Futurism.

Opening hoursAdmission €15 Wheelchair accessible

About the museum

The Mart was founded in 1987 as a functional body of the Autonomous Province of Trento, following the success of the exhibition on Giovanni Segantini at Palazzo delle Albere in Trento. Its initial seats were Palazzo delle Albere and the Galleria Museo Depero in Rovereto, to which the Archivio del '900 was added. In 2002 the new complex in Rovereto, designed by the architect Mario Botta together with the engineer Giulio Andreolli, opened.

Conceived more as a cultural centre than as a traditional museum, the Mart interacts in its public spaces with the Biblioteca civica, the Auditorium Melotti, the Teatro comunale and the University. Its heritage includes the major masterpieces of 20th-century Italian art, with research areas ranging from Futurism to rationalist architecture, from visual poetry to the historical avant-gardes and contemporary art.

The admission ticket also includes the Casa d'Arte Futurista Depero in Rovereto and the Galleria Civica di Trento, which can be visited on different days within two months.
