About the museum

The museum at Villa Lagarina is one of the venues of the Museo Diocesano Tridentino, which has its centre in Trento. It is housed in Palazzo Libera, a building in the centre of the village, and collects works of art and liturgical furnishings from the sacristy of the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta.

Many objects are linked to the Lodron family, who held the right of patronage over the church and enriched its heritage with donations and commissions. The collection also has connections with the Salzburg area, which adds to its international value.

The visit route runs through the piano nobile, the second floor and the attic of the palazzo. The objects are arranged, as far as possible, in chronological order and grouped by patron.
