About the museum
The museum is housed in an old mill on the edge of the medieval centre of Cerchiara di Calabria, a village in the Pollino National Park known as the “Città del Pane” (City of Bread) and home to a food festival dedicated to bread.
The route displays tools and machinery of rural life in the past, millstones, period photographs and life-size reconstructions of the stages of production, with figures of a miller and a baker and examples of authentic loaves; a projection room completes the visit. Visitors can follow the entire bread-making process.
