About the museum
The Museo del Territorio delle Valli e della Laguna di Venezia is located in Lova, a hamlet of Campagna Lupia, in Ca’ Tiepolo, a late Renaissance farmhouse in the Valle Averto area. It illustrates the traditional activities of the lagoon valleys (navigation, fishing, hunting and valley farming), with archive documents, historical images and original objects.
An archaeological section presents finds from the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance recovered from the surrounding lagoon. The larger pieces, such as boats and valley tools, are displayed outdoors. The surrounding land, which covers almost all of Valle Averto, is crossed by educational trails that make the whole area an open-air museum.
