About the museum
The Museo della civiltà contadina “Giovanni Pendola” (rural life museum) and mill complex was created to introduce young people and tourists to the Rapallo “of times past”. It is housed in an old mill in the hamlet of San Maurizio di Monti, along the provincial road 58 that climbs to the sanctuary of Nostra Signora di Montallegro.
The museum occupies two buildings owned by the Pendola family: the oil press dates back to the 17th century but was reworked during the 20th century. Inside are preserved objects, tools and much more relating to the world of the peasantry and agriculture.
