About the museum
Glorenza is one of the smallest fortified towns in the Alpine arc and has almost entirely preserved the circuit of walls built in the 16th century. The Porta di Sluderno, with its tower, is one of the town's historic gates.
Since 2011 the tower has housed a permanent exhibition entitled “Stationen einer kleinen Stadt” (Stations of a small town). The route runs over two floors and reconstructs the history of Glorenza through themes such as trade, defence, markets, crafts, customs and everyday life, without neglecting local anecdotes and curiosities.
Information panels and objects explain the 16th-century reconstruction of the town and its system of fortifications. The visit also includes a stretch of the walkway along the walls (cammino di ronda), with access to a corner tower (torrione angolare), from which the town can be seen from above.
