About the museum
The museum in Selci-Lama, a hamlet of San Giustino, collects boxes of different periods and origins. Most are packaging for food products, such as biscuits, chocolate, pasta and coffee, in tin or cardboard but decorated with prints designed by artists.
The collection also includes the first boxes for sweets. Once emptied, these containers were often reused as small personal boxes in which to keep keepsakes, and this is where the name of the museum (Museo delle scatole e dei ricordi) comes from.
