About the museum
The museum grew out of the passion of Pietro Cozzi, an entrepreneur from Legnano and founder of the Alfa Romeo dealership Fratelli Cozzi. From 1955 Cozzi began to keep one example of each model sold by the dealership. The collection was shown to the public only on occasional occasions before its official opening in autumn 2015, to mark the sixtieth anniversary of the business.
The venue is a former underground warehouse from the 1950s belonging to the dealership, redesigned in 2015 by the architects Gabriele and Oscar Buratti. The rooms, about 1,000 m², are arranged in three naves: saloons on the right, coupés on the left and spiders in the centre, with a floor that recalls the road surface.
The collection includes at least one example of every Alfa Romeo model produced from 1950 onwards, with over 60 cars, including unique pieces such as an Alfa Romeo 155 with which a speed record was set and a Giulia 1600 TI Super in the grey “Fumo di Londra”. Alongside the cars, posters, photographs, books, documents and trophies are kept in the Cozzi.LAB archive, which can be consulted online and is opened during events and rallies. The museum organises educational visits for schools and makes its spaces available for events.
