About the museum

Palazzo Gucci is housed in the historic Palazzo della Mercanzia, a building dating from 1337 in Piazza della Signoria in Florence. Since 2011 the maison has set up its own museum there, later renamed Gucci Garden; today it presents the venue as the brand’s cultural destination, conceived as a “museum of museums”, a sequence of very different spaces.

The current exhibition, Gucci Storia, occupies the first and second floors and reinterprets the shared history of the maison and the city where it was born. The route includes a gallery of portraits devoted to family and identity, a tapestry gallery, which recalls a Florentine craft linked to the brand, a cabinet of curiosities with archival objects, two rooms on know-how and innovation, as well as cinematic spaces and interactive installations.

On the ground floor are the boutique and Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura; nearby, in the square, is Gucci Giardino, a café and cocktail bar open all day.
