About the museum
The Museo Storico dell’Arma dei Carabinieri tells the story of the Corps from the Regie Patenti (Royal Letters Patent) of 13 July 1814, which gave rise to the Arma, up to the present day. It is located in Piazza del Risorgimento, near Vatican City.
The route is organised over twenty-six rooms housing paintings, sculptures, documents, memorabilia, historic weapons and period uniforms. Audio guides and interactive screens offer in-depth information on individual themes.
In the Salone d’Onore (Hall of Honour) the original plaster cast of the 1933 high relief for the monument to the Carabiniere of Turin, by the sculptor Edoardo Rubino, is preserved. The Sacrario (shrine) commemorates the Carabinieri who died in the performance of their duty.
