About the museum
The museum was established in 2006 by the Comunità Montana (mountain community) with the contribution of specialists who work with visually impaired children. All exhibits can be touched, including the stuffed animals.
The route, accompanied by the sounds of nature, presents the main environmental features of the area in four dioramas: the rural environment with mountain pastures and farmyard animals, high mountain with samples of local rocks, the forest with a small xylotheque (wood collection) of mid-altitude species, and the lake environment with a reed bed.
The museum is linked to a geological trail that climbs from Viggiona to Monte Carza, with a map available for visitors.
