About the museum

The Pinacoteca is housed in the Palazzo Martinengo da Barco and was rearranged in 2018. The route starts from the 14th century and also includes decorative arts; its central core is Renaissance painting from Brescia, with Savoldo, Romanino and Moretto.

The visit continues with Giacomo Ceruti and ends with the 19th century, represented by Canova and Hayez. Among the most important works are Raphael's Christ the Redeemer blessing, dating from around 1505–1506, and Lorenzo Lotto's Adoration of the Shepherds.

The museum is part of the Fondazione Brescia Musei, which also runs the Museo di Santa Giulia, the Castello di Brescia with the Museo delle Armi and the Museo del Risorgimento, and the Brixia archaeological park. On 13 October 2026 Romanino's Good Samaritan, obtained on loan, became part of the permanent collection.
