About the museum
The Plessi Museum is located at Brennero, in the service area of the A22 motorway, which stands where the customs post between Italy and Austria once was. It is a traditional rest stop that also aims to be a meeting place for art, landscape and territory. Its centre is a bright hall with large windows looking onto the Alpine landscape.
The museum houses video installations, graphic works and sculptures by Fabrizio Plessi, one of the best-known Italian artists on the international contemporary art scene, who died in 2026. The main work is the large installation “L’anima della natura”, dedicated to water and the link between Tyrol, South Tyrol and Trentino.
On the first floor is a fully equipped conference hall for congresses, cultural events, institutional meetings and presentations, also used for local and cross-border initiatives. The area is run by Autostrada del Brennero S.p.A. and also includes a bar, a restaurant and a shop selling South Tyrolean specialities.
